The Michigan House of Representatives has the legislative authority and responsibilities to pass bills on public policy matters. In 2019, I had the honor to work alongside State Representative HD108 LaFave (R) and Disability Network Michigan to
get HB 4075 & HB 4076 passed. Although they passed unanimously in the house in 2019 it was never taken up in the Senate due to the pandemic.
On July 26, 2022 Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed new law House Bills 4075 and 4076 that update signs used to designate parking spaces for people with disabilities.
The signing of the law came one day before the 32nd anniversary of the signing of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act.
